Highlights

I've officially achieved my primary goal of uploading the majority of my 80,000 fractals to this web site.  It took a bit over one year on dial-up to do it.  Web versions of my data use more space due to redundancy with thumb nailed images and HTML text.  Here is how my server space is being used:

Cross Stitch Patterns (web version) = 4.72 GBs, General Use (web version) = 6.95 GBs, Limited Edition Prints (web version) = 198.70 MBs, Posters (web version) = 1.44 GBs, Trippy Edition Fractals (web version) = 2.27 GBs.  Assorted software demos use an additional 1.60+ GBs.  (01-06-2009)

Announcements / History :

(2009)

I have a new fractal art show coming up in August.  It will run from August 10th through September 16th at Georgia Perimeter College (Clarkston campus).  I will also have a reception on August 19th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (possibly longer) where I will talk about my fractal explorations in the 500-seat Cole Auditorium.  Musician Michael Thomas Roe has been asked to perform with me.  I will have framed pieces on the wall of the lobby plus a kiosk running a looped presentation about my fractals during the entire length of this art show.  This is FREE to attend, snacks and soft drinks will be served, alcohol is not permitted on the campus.  This event is suitable for all ages.  Please feel free to invite or bring along whomever you wish.  (05-26-2009)

The Discounts page has been cancelled.  (05-26-2009)

I've added embedded video samples to the Download / Downloads pages.  The Download & Downloads pages are exactly alike.  Their purpose is to catch traffic that may have mistyped the correct web address.  (05-13-2009)

Check out my Videos page for the newest additions to my HD and DVD quality Video Art.  I have the page divided among two chief uses: performances and disc sales.  DJs, VJs, musicians, and others can now buy my fractal Flames & Clouds Video Art with a public performance license automatically attached to their purchase(s).  (05-03-2009)

New downloads are available.  Now you can see samples of my Flames & Clouds looping animations, all of my looping test programs, and more of my non-looping test programs.  (04-27-2009)

I now have 1,005 HD animations at 1024 x 768.  I also have 300 HD animations at 1920 x 1080.  I've started making HD animations 1280 x 720 too.  My goal is to have an equal number of animations regardless of their video resolution.  (updated 04-27-2009)

I've submitted a form to Dragon Con in the hopes of being one of their guest performers.  If accepted I will be working with Michael Thomas Roe.  This will be a terrific opportunity for both of us to gain more exposure and greater sales.  (03-24-2009)

I am in the process of expanding eight of my black & white and pseudo-greyscale HD fractal animated segments.  With each expansion there are variations derived from the original animations.  Here is what I am working on:  (03-08-2009)

I've added School Services to my web site.  Use the Site Map link to navigate to the page.  (01-30-2009)

HD Fractal Animation #2 has been updated.  "Fractal's End" now has an extra 1,103 frames.  This provides a better color match to the next animation segment.  With the new outward zoom we see how far the center point actually shifted.  (01-24-2009)

Movie Theater Project #001: I'm working towards renting theater space at the Plaza in Midtown Atlanta.  I am looking for local businesses who wish to advertise in my program guides and on this web site in exchange for backing this project.  Three-hundred-seventy-five program guides will be printed.  The program guides will give some details on most of the fractal segments.  Program guides will be included with the ticket purchase.  I may include flyers or mini-posters for supporting advertisers to display in their stores.  Are you a musician seeking to create an on-the-fly soundtrack?  This could be your opportunity.  Updates for this project will be posted as they develop.  Please visit me on My Space for the most current information www.myspace.com/allfractup.  (01-06-2009)

(2008)

On December 13th, 2008 I ran my HD fractal animations with local musician Michael Thomas Roe.  During our collaboration I watched the audience periodically to get a feel for their experience.  I can honestly say they were captivated from start to finish.  If you enjoy the legendary sounds of Tangerine Dream then you'll also enjoy Mr. Roe's work.  This was part of the City Skies 2008 performances held at Kavarna's in Decatur.  Immediately following our performance I had three to four offers from other musicians to play my HD animations for them.  I am looking forward to exploring these opportunities.  (12-14-2008)

My art show at Georgia Tech's Ferst Center ran August through September 2008.  On display were twenty-four 16 by 20 inch pieces and two 24 by 36 inch pieces.  All are mounted on foam core and laminated both sides.  The lamination gives a glowing or self-illuminated look to each fractal. (updated 09-30-2008)

Fractal #655 "Tuscany Altar" was donated to the Dragon Con charity auction June 20th, 2008. You can see this piece by visiting my Art Shows page, The Name Game page, and the Prints & Patterns Sold page.  It sold for $75.00.  Through Dragon Con's varied efforts they raised over $20,000 for the American Heart Association.  (updated 09-03-2008)

On September 2nd I introduced ninety fourth graders from Centennial Place Elementary to fractals.  They saw my HD fractal animations, through software they made their own fractals, assembled two hand-cut fractal puzzles, and got a tour of both art galleries.  I had a terrific time fielding questions and meeting all who came from their school.  (09-02-2008)

I've discontinued my use of Lulu.com.  Items that were once meant for sales on Lulu will now be put on hold until further notice.  (08-09-2008)

I've updated and simplified my mail-in orders page.  I try to keep everything as simple and affordable as possible.  There will be times when this site is updated in an effort to accomplish that goal.  (07-22-2008)

New Limited Edition Prints were added to both The Name Game and Limited Edition Prints sections.  Thousands more are on the way.  (updated 07-17-2008)

DooGallery held an art party on July 4th.  All of their art was themed around Red, White, and Blue.  I entered three first edition fractals for their show.  (07-11-2008)

Check out my full-color 1/4 page ad in the Pride edition of Southern Voice.  (06-12-2008)

I ran my HD Fractal Animations for the 20th anniversary USS Republic party held at Sci-Fi Summer Con 2008.  I had worked on last minute additions that pushed my production to 58 minutes.  I used fractals to achieve my directive: To recreate Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" TV program that aired back in the 1980s.  To capture the essence of that show I knew that deep zooming fractals was the way to go.  (06-10-2008)

I have resumed the regeneration of my fractals to 4096 by 3072 (40 by 30 inch) as Limited Edition prints.  (05-30-2008)

I've been asked to create fractal T-shirts for the board members of the Roswell CABYs.  The sample shown here is a 1.80 MB file.  It is large enough for a 20 by 15 inch print.  (05-30-2008)

Check out my full-color 1/4 page ad in the 20th year anniversary edition of Southern Voice. (05-22-2008)

I played animated zooming fractals for the CABYs on March 13th 2008.  I collaborated with composer Darren Nelsen to create a fabulous introductory piece for this event.  Look here for more information.  With the aide of a new PC I created 8,515 new frames of animation in thirteen days (Feb. 9th to Feb. 22nd, 2008.)  I've been contacted to create commerative T-shirts with frames from the animations shown at the 2008 CABYs.  I was also asked to produce a short animation that people can download.  (updated 05-08-2008)

My brother Steve is getting married the first weekend in May.  At his reception he is going to have music from The Grateful Dead playing.  So I was asked to show my HD fractal animations and my Trippy themed fractal DVDs.  Nothing like a hippy Irish wedding eh?  Due to unforseen complications I was not able to show my fractals to the reception. (05-07-2008)

The Fayette Arts Center closed its doors May 28th.  I would like to extend my appreciation to Kathaleen Brewer (Owner / Director) for being the first gallery to show my fractals.  (04-25-2008)

I've been asked to do demonstrations to all the Math classes at the Roswell high school.  A math teacher was part of the CABYs event and came to speak with me afterward.  She's going to be teaching the subject and wants to show her students that math and the arts are intertwined.  Darren Nelsen used fractals to create the music for my presentation.  I will be showing 20 or more minutes of High Definition fractal animation on April 24th at Roswell High School.  This is scheduled to run the whole day.  See my InterNet Journal on MySpace for a complete review (04-24-2008)

I'd like to thank the Spruill Gallery Gift Shop for displaying my fractal prints.  (04-04-2008)

Check out my first ad in the April 11th Home Spaces edition of Southern Voice.  (04-01-2008)

I am now making Trippy DVDs with 44 slide show transitions per disc.  Each DVD can have a custom message LightScribed onto the surface of the disc.  Custom slides can feature personal messages, names, slogans, ads, etc as unique inserts into the video itself.  For more information about this please visit the Video page.  I also make a Demo Trippy DVD which plays for 9 1/2 hours.  (updated 04-01-2008)

I ran animations and fractal DVDs March 27th for Horizon School's 30th anniversary party.  The animations were an expanded version of what I played during the CABYs.  (03-28-2008)

The Army's MWR (Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) division answered one of my emails with a request to review my fractal games, video art (PC and DVD), screen savers.  I was informed recently that the Army's strict software policy prohibits them from using my Video Art and games software.  (updated 02-22-2008)

Thanks to the owners of Miss Q's for allowing my art to be shown at their friendly establishment.  It is my understanding they are now closed. (02-22-2008)

(2007)

For December 2007 I returned to the Artists Market at the St. Paul United Methodist church for my third year participating.  The church is where program guides and maps can be obtained for Grant Park's annual Candlelight Tour of Homes.  The holographic lollipops are no longer being made so I had an expanded selection of embedded lollipop art on hand.  (12-31-2007)

I had the pleasure of showing two unique fractal videos for the Gaylaxicon 2007 Sci-Fi convention.  I used plasma clouds for their tribute to the B-52s and fractals from volumes 11 & 12 for their dance.  They both had a theme of hippy trippy colors and shapes.   In addition to that I was delighted when I sold my fractals in their art show / print shop.  (11-1-2007)

I had the good fortune of playing my fractal DVD during Sunday's Drum Circle at Dragon Con 2007.  The fractals were projected upon a large screen above the drummer's stage where the entire room could see them.  Fractal #460 "Self-Inflicted Reflections" was auctioned off to a math teacher for $125.00.  It is a first edition print measuring 16 by 20 inches. When matted and framed it measures 20 by 24 inches.  The print is hand signed, titled, numbered 1 / 20 on the back.  The 2007 Dragon Con art auction raised $8,800.00 for The American Diabetes Association.  The convention held numerous charity auctions that raised a total of $14,000.00 for this organization.  (08-5-2007)

Members of the Star Trek fan club USS Republic now enjoy a 10% discount on my fractal art (offer excludes external web sales such as Cafe Press)  (08-05-2007)

I donated five volumes of PC Jigsaw Puzzles plus ten volumes of HD / PC Video Art to the Army's first ever gaming & sci-fi convention.  I got word back that Ziggurat Con 2007 was quite popular.  You can view 98 of their photos via my Myspace account.  (06-13-2007)

I had a three month stay at Fine Line Gallery.  I had about a dozen framed LightJet and Achival giclee pieces on display.  My fractals were exclusively displayed and sold during that period.

(2006)

For December 2006 I was invited to return to the Artists Market at the St. Paul United Methodist church.  This marks my second year participating.  The church is where program guides and maps can be obtained for Grant Park's annual Candlelight Tour of Homes.  This also marked my introduction of edible art in the form of holographic lollipops and emedded art lollipops.  (12-31-2006)

I've had fractal works on display at Fayette's only arts center since 2006.

(2001)

For December 2001 I went to the Artists Market at the St. Paul United Methodist church for my first year participating.  The church is where program guides and maps can be obtained for Grant Park's annual Candlelight Tour of Homes.  (12-31-2001)

(1997 to 2000)

In 1997 I began selling unique one-of-a-kind fractal T-shirts.  I later introduced Limited Edition prints and Limited Edition cross stitch patterns.
